Government Information
The Information and Privacy Commission (IPC) oversees the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 (GIPA Act). The GIPA Act authorises the proactive release of information by NSW public sector agencies, provides members of the public with a right to access government information, and ensures that access to government information is only restricted to when there is an overriding public interest against its release.
The Board provides a variety of reports, policies, procedures and guidelines on this website and will provide a variety of information without the need to make a formal access application including:
- Copies of correspondence, where the person requesting the correspondence was the person who sent it to the Board
- Documents that contain personal information about a particular individual, and that is the person who is requesting the information
- Documents that have already been made public in some other way
Some government information may not be disclosed in accordance with the GIPA Act and the Veterinary Practice Act 2003.
Further information about access to government information is available from the IPC website.
